The World’s Most Glamorous Women: How Do They Do It?

1. Model
Models often have a jet-set lifestyle, and it certainly isn’t easy. You have to keep yourself in tip-top condition – woe betide if you turn up with acne, unshaved legs or unkempt hair. For most models, the key things involve drinking lots of water, moisturising at every opportunity, getting enough sleep and exercising every day. “I mix boxing with cardio and pilates,” Joan Smalls told Elle. “If I’m not busy or working, I’ll work out every day. If I am busy, I’ll try to at least sneak in 30 minutes or try to work out every other day.”

2. Air hostess
Flight attendants have to look pristine for long periods of time, so naturally they’re experts at glamour. And their routine is something we could all adapt, should we be taking a flight. We all know flying seriously dehydrates the skin (moisturiser is essential) but it does the same for your hair too, so air hostesses will often use an intense conditioner beforehand. A vitamin C spritz is another trick used to lose that puffy, sleepy face.

3. Actress
Unlike so many careers in the celebrity spotlight, you could be an actress for years and years, so a beauty routine is essential. Wearing sunscreen is extremely important, so that’s often a starting point for many actresses.

4. Singer
There’s nothing worse than smudged make-up when performing on stage, so singers have often tried various methods to keep things in place. “There are tricks I’ve learned from make-up artists on shoots,” says Taylor Swift. “They put on the red lipstick, then blot it with a tissue,

then they put powder over the tissue and sort of press it onto your lips. Then re-apply. It turns it into a stain that lasts much longer.”

5. Newsreader
When you get up at the crack of dawn, it’s difficult to look fresh-faced. But this is something that early rising newsreaders have to overcome. As well as getting an early night, there’s the tried-and-tested cucumber over the eyes technique. For a quick fix, Glamour recommends that you chill a brightening eye cream in the fridge overnight and massage it around your eyes the following morning. Don’t be tempted to apply lots of concealer, because it’ll only make it worse.

Add to these snippets of advice a torrent of other beauty regimes, and you’ll see it’s certainly not easy to look the part – especially when fitting it into a work schedule too.
