Ralph + Russo’s ‘honoured’ to dress Angelina Jolie

Ralph & Russo have admitted it was an ”honour” to dress Angelina Jolie.

The ‘Changeling’ actress requested the London-based label – which was founded by designer Tamara Ralph, and company CEO Michael Russo in 2007 – to create a dove-grey pencil skirt and wool crepe peplum jacket for her to wear as she collected her honorary damehood from the Queen on Friday.

The designers were thrilled to put together the outfit for the ”momentous” occasion, which took place at London’s Buckingham Palace and honoured the 29-year-old actress with the Insignia of an ‘Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George’ in recognition of her campaigns against sexual violence.

Tamara told Vogue: ”It was an absolute honour for Angelina Jolie to ask us to create her outfit for such a momentous and meaningful event.

”With Ralph & Russo being a British couture house, it was befitting that she chose to wear one of our creations to Buckingham Palace. The dove-grey wool-crepe suit was perfectly suited to the occasion; simple, elegant and refined.”

Angelina – who attended the reception with husband Brad Pitt and their six children, Maddox, 13, Pax, 10, Zahara, nine, Shiloh, eight, and six-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – made sure her whole family were dressed for the occasion.

A source said: ”The kids were very excited to be at Buckingham Palace. Everyone dressed up really smart.”
