Rebecca Ferguson is the final headline act announced for this summer’s Forest Live, the Forestry Commission’s annual concert series where artists perform in spectacular woodland locations.
Rebecca Ferguson is often regarded as the most naturally talented singer to emerge from The X Factor TV series. Her million selling debut album ‘Heaven’ launched her in a blaze of critical acclaim in 2011. The album went on to become double platinum in the UK and generated hit singles ‘Nothing’s Real But Love’ and ‘Teach Me How To Be Loved’.
As with ‘Heaven’, Rebecca co-wrote her new album, ‘Freedom’, working mainly with new collaborators including Jarrad Rogers, with whom she wrote 5 tracks. As well as Jarrad, she also worked with Mr. Hudson, Matt Hales, Toby Gad and TMS, and regular collaborator Eg White. ‘Freedom’ has provided Rebecca with another Top 10 release which has already achieved gold in album sales and features the singles ‘I Hope’ and ‘All That I’ve Got’. The Forest Live dates follow on from an exceptionally well-received UK Spring tour: “…such an assured voice, laced with a huskiness that conveys a shattering depth of emotion… Ferguson’s voice is effortlessly versatile” – The Independent.
Forest Live is an independent programme organised by the Forestry Commission, bringing music to new audiences without commercial branding or sponsorship. Income generated from ticket sales is spent on improving the local forests for both people and wildlife. With everything required for a great night out, including full catering and bar facilities, the concerts are renowned for their relaxed atmosphere.
Forest Live recently revealed that Kian Egan wil join Boyzone when they perform at later this year.
Rebecca Ferguson plus guests will be performing:
Thursday 12 June: Thetford Forest, Nr Brandon, Suffolk
Sunday 22 June: Westonbirt Arboretum, Nr Tetbury, Glos
Tickets £36.30 (including booking fee) go on sale at 9.00am on Friday 4 April from the Forestry Commission box office tel 03000 680400 or buy online at www.forestry.gov.uk/music.
