Gary Oldman wants Apes sequel shot in London

Gary Oldman hopes the sequel to ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ is shot in London.

The 56-year-old actor stars as Dreyfus – a surviving human who wants to go to war with the ape community – in the movie which is set in San Francisco.

As the film deals with the near extinction of the human race across the world, Oldman thinks it would be great if the next instalment came to his hometown in the UK.

In an interview with ‘London Go’ he said: ”The apes could go to Trafalgar Square? Climbing up Nelson’s Column? Like a mini version of ‘King Kong’. Call it ‘Apes Go Bananas In The Smoke’.”

Oldman was born and raised in south London and always relishes the chance to come back to England as he misses the quirks of the country.

The Hollywood star said: ”I don’t call London home as I’ve lived away for so long but I do love coming back. Yeah, you do miss it. It’s the irony and the humour. I think they’re not the same elsewhere.”

Oldman lives in Los Angeles with his wife, English singer-and-actress Alexandra Edenborough, and his sons from his marriage to ex-wife Donya Fiorentino.

Gary Oldman – who played Commissioner Gordon in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, is skeptical about the upcoming incarnation of the Caped Crusader that will show up in ‘Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn Of Justice’.
