Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan are confirmed to star in Wildlife for first-time director Paul Dano.
The movie script, which Love and Mercy star Dano co-wrote with his girlfriend Zoe Kazan, is based on a 1990 novel by Richard Ford about a teenage boy and his response to the breakup of his parents’ marriage once the family moves to Montana.
Dano co-wrote the screenplay for Wildlife with his partner Zoe Kazan, who wrote the 2012 romantic comedy Ruby Sparks, in which both she and Dano starred. He also stars in new film Swiss Army Man opposite Daniel Radcliffe.
Nightcrawler star Gyllenhaal next features in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, which made its debut at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month and will also play a part at the London Film Festival in mid October before being released in the US in November 16th, while Mulligan’s last big-screen appearance was in the 2015 drama Suffragette.
Mulligan’s credits include Shame and Drive, recently wrapped the indie drama Mudbound.
The film will begin shooting in Montana and Oklahoma in November 16th.
