‘Happy’ singer Pharrell Williams is back at No. 1  in the UK singles chart this week whilst Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’ remains the UK No. 1  album in the official music chart

He had the title temporarily stolen last week by Pitbull and Ke$ha, but Pharrell Williams is back at the top of the UK singles chart once again with ‘Happy’.

Pharrell and his feel-good hit ‘Happy’ – taken from the ‘Despicable Me 2’ animated film – has returned to No. 1 for a second non-consecutive week at the top having sold over 107,000 copies in the past seven days.

Pitbull and Ke$ha’s ‘Timber’ has now fallen to No. 2.

Completing this week’s top five is Avicii with ‘Hey Brother’, a non-mover at No. 3, Jason Derulo’s ‘Trumpets’ is another non-mover at No. 4 and Fuse ODG’s ‘Million Pound Girl (Badder Than Bad)’ has shot up nine places to land at No. 5.

A new entry to this week’s chart comes from DJ Hardwell featuring Matthew Koma with ‘Dare You’ debuting at No. 18.

Tunes climbing up the chart include Beyonce featuring husband Jay Z with ‘Drunk In Love’ advancing 17 places to reach No. 10, Sub Focus’ ‘Turn Back Time’ has fired 30 places up the chart to No. 15, Kid Ink’s ‘Show Me’ featuring Chris Brown is up 28 places to No. 32, and Busta Rhymes’ ‘Thank You’ has made it to No. 37 after moving up a sizeable 61 places.

Meanwhile over on the album chart MarkMeets can reveal that Ellie Goulding’s ‘Halcyon’ remains at No. 1 in UK albums chart

British songstress Ellie Goulding is sitting at the top of the UK albums chart for a second consecutive week with her LP ‘Halcyon’.

It took 65 weeks for Ellie’s second album to reach No. 1 in the chart last week but she is now enjoying yet another week at the top.

‘Halcyon Days’ – the re-issued version of her October 2012 release ‘Halcyon’ – has now sold 680,000 copies in the UK alone.

Goulding has managed to keep Beyonce’s self-titled visual album from toppling her but the Texan star is up one place to No. 2.

The rest of the top five sees Gary Barlow down one to No. 3 with ‘Since I Saw You Last’, John Newman’s ‘Tribute’ up one to No. 4 and Bastille’s ‘Bad Blood’ up one to No. 5.

A new entry to this week’s chart sees American rapper Kid Ink debuting at No. 34 with ‘My Own Lane’.
