The Best Albums Still To Look Forward To This Year

Everytime we go to a gig you want to hear the hits rights? but where do these hits come from…the answer NEW MUSIC.

Now we are already halfway through 2017 and have witnessed some huge album releases from the likes of Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles and Rag’N’Bone Man, but guess what? There are some right ol’ bangers on the way.

MarkMeets Music Feature Albums 2017

Shania Twain

The 90’s return? and oh yes…Shania is coming back strong.  Having left a 15 year gap since her last album Up! the Canadian star has been busy touring and taking in the wonga, not to mention her highly lucrative Las Vegas residency, .

Shania is ready to share her new material and no dount taking inspiration from her divorce, her new ‘unamed’ LP is expected to be a mixture of melancholy ballads and uplifting anthems and is due out this September.

Several song titles are Who’s Gonna Be Your Girl? and Swinging With My Eyes Closed. Neither of those are the lead single though, that honour goes to Life’s About To Get Good which will debut in June.

Justin Timberlake

From music to movies this can can do it all! Justin released two albums back in 2013, and after a short break he will soon unleash another belter!

JT returned last year with Can’t Stop The Feeling, from the Trolls movie soundtrack, and it seems the follow-up to The 20/20 Experience will be along the same vibe.

Fergie

Fergie…is she the one who left the Black Eyed Peas?? YEESSSS….and she is finally coming back. The star has apologised for the delay of her long-awaited second solo album. “I’ve got a kid and a husband and I just need to sleep and I just really cared about it.” Fergie promises this record will be personal and would include reggae, pop, hip-hop and retro influences. Lead single MILF$ sure got everyone talking, and Charlie Puth says he’s worked on music for it. The title Double Dutchess.

Zayn

He’s already got one album under his belt, but Zayn isn’t letting the grass grow. The follow-up to his debut solo set Mind Of Mine is coming this year, and we have already had a taste of what to expect with his PARTYNEXTDOOR collaboration Still Got Time.

Nicki Minaj is confirmed to be appearing thanks to a sneaky play of their collaboration at an event, and producer Malay has said in an interview that Zayn will also be singing in Urdu on at least one track. Oh, and the boss of Zayn’s label (RCA) has been praising the collection, saying it shows a “lot of growth”.

Pink

‘Just Like Fire’ was a hit across the world last year, but  the birth of her second child Jameson Moon Hart interrupted Pink’s 2016 album plans. While there’s not much info on her next project, in an interview to promote her feature alongside Sia on Stargate’s Waterfall she said she was recording and sifting out the best ones. Expect the record in the second half of the year.

Niall Horan

Yes Niall is ready to release his solo stuff. The Irish popstar landed a Top 10 with his debut solo single This Town at the back end of 2016, and his first album promises to follow in a similar vein. Inspired by childhood faves Fleetwood Mac and Crosby, Stills & Nash, Niall has been working with session musicians to create an album with a “folk-with-pop feel”, although it won’t all be laid-back and romantic like his first single. “Some of the songs are heavier than others,” claims Niall, which should satisfy a banger-hungry crowd. It’s expected this summer.

Christina Aguilera

So Xtina’s first album in five years is likely to be on its way by the end of the year with Christina reportedly having been in the studio on and off since 2015, with known collaborators to include Da Internz, Elle King and fellow The Voice coach Pharrell Williams. Christina is looking to go deep on this one, saying: “It’s genuine and it’s heartfelt and I’m very excited to pour my heart out into this record fully”.

No confirmed title or release date yet (Darn it)!!

Sean Paul

It doesn’t really feel like his Duttyness has been away too long, thanks to his mega collab with Sia, Cheap Thrills, plus his cameo on Clean Bandit’s Christmas Number 1 Rockabye, but it’s been nearly five years since he was last in the Official Albums Chart. Two tracks are already out there: the Top 10 hit No Lie, feat. Dua Lipa, and Tek Weh Yuh Heart feat. Tory Lanez, giving a good indication of what’s to come.

Kelly Clarkson

Also heading back to where they started is Kelly Clarkson, who has a new record deal and will be returning to the R&B and soul that brought her fame on American Idol. It sounds like she’s thinking big, in a recent interview she reminisced: “I sang all these Aretha things, I love Tina, I love Mariah, I love Whitney”. It’s likely we’ll get to hear the results this June.

Liam Gallagher

Oasis’ frontman tweeted last year about being adverse the idea of a solo career. “Solo record are you f**king tripping dickhead im not a cu** LG X”. Fast forward to August 2016 and Liam had a change of heart it seems. He tweeted: “It’s official I’m a cu** LG X”. At least he doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Liam said he would rather look at his new material (confirming it exists) not so much as a solo career, and more songs that he has written that we would like to see released. Whatever Liam defines it as, we’re excited to hear it.

Lead single Wall Of Glass (Which he performed in Mancheter earlier this month) has been met with heaps of praise from fans and critics; fingers crossed the rest of the album can live up to it.

Camila Cabello

What do you mean “already”? No point hanging about in the world of pop, where a month is a lifetime. Fresh from waving off the rest of Fifth Harmony, Camila is expected to release her debut album, called The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving in September. She’s already had a taste of going it alone, just missing the UK Top 40 with her feature slot on Shawn Mendes’ I Know What You Did Last Summer and more recently on Machine Gun Kelly’s Bad Things, and Pitbull’s Hey Ma, so she’s looking good to crack it for herself in 2017.

The album’s lead single, Crying In The Club, was co-written by hitmaker Sia, trailed by a fiery performance on Britain’s Got Talent.

Miley Cyrus

Miley is finally working on the follow-up to Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, which was released as a free download following her VMAs hosting gig in 2015.

First single from the new album is the Top 20 hit Malibu, a “breezy love song” to her partner Liam Hemsworth, and it looks like we can expect more of the same from the album.

Kylie Minogue

2017 will see Kylie release her 14th studio album on a new label, after signing with BMG after 16 years at Parlophone. The head of her new label has said they “want to make a great, big, classic Kylie pop record”. She’s been spotted in the studio with the Invisible Men, who’ve penned tracks for Zayn, Jonas Blue, Britney and Bebe Rexha.
