Backstreet Boys in rehearsals ahead of Las Vegas residency announcement

The Backstreet Boys will begin an 18-date residency at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on 1st March next year and fans are thrilled.

It is believed that the run of dates will be seen as a trial that could lead to a longer contract for the 90’s supergroup.

Member Brian Littrell said, “If you’ve ever been to a Backstreet Boys show… it’s going to be that on steroids.”

“It’s going to be an amazing, energetic, fun party show,” band member Kevin Richardson said in a video announcing their effort.

“We’re going to call the show Larger Than Life, and we’re taking that theme and we’re going to run with it.”

Nine of the dates will take place in March, then eight gigs will take place in June with the final one scheduled to be held on July 1. Tickets for all shows are due to go on sale at 10am on October 1.

A spokesperson said of the booking “The AXIS marked a new era of entertainment, bringing the first pop music residencies to the famed Las Vegas Strip. Introducing the Backstreet Boys further solidifies our reputation as a premier destination for live entertainment.”

Previous stars who have held redidencies include Elton John, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Celine Dion in recent years.

The Backstreet Boys have sold over 130 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling boy band in history, and one of the world’s best-selling music artists.
