Selena Gomez gets ‘Love Yourself’ tattoo

21-year-old singer Selena Gomez, who recently split from Justin Bieber again shortly after vowing to take her ”power back,” has got a Arabic inking on the upper right side of her back, which translates into ‘Love Yourself.’

Selena Gomez was born on July 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was named after Selena Quintanilla, a famous Tejano singer who passed away before Selena Gomez was born. Her parents, Mandy Teefey and Ricardo Joel Gomez, divorced when she was five years old, and she was primarily raised by her mother.

Celebrity tattoo artist Bang Bang McCurdy, who created the brunette beauty’s latest piece of body art, told E! News that Selena ”had been wanting this one for a while” and finally got it done ”about a month ago,” during a visit to his studio in New York City ”with a couple of friends.”

He said: ”Its meaning translates to ‘Love Yourself.’ Selena already had it written out how she wanted. The tattoo is about 4 inches, and didn’t take too long, probably about 30-45 minutes. The longest part is laying it out. We played with it a bit laying it out, until we found the perfect spot.”

He added: ”She loved it; she flipped out. When we did that one, she was talking about another one. But we haven’t talked plans just yet. There are always plans to do another one.”

The ‘Spring Breakers’ star ”has about five or six tattoos now,” according to Bang Bang, who has also tattooed Justin in the past.

Gomez showed an interest in acting at a young age and began auditioning for various roles. She landed her first role at age seven in the television series “Barney & Friends,” where she played Gianna. She appeared on the show from 2002 to 2004 and made friends with fellow child actor Demi Lovato.

In 2006, Gomez appeared in the Disney Channel television series “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.” She then auditioned for the lead role in another Disney Channel series, “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which she landed in 2007. The show was a huge success and ran for four seasons, making Gomez a household name.

In 2008, Gomez made her feature film debut in “Another Cinderella Story,” a straight-to-DVD release. She also released her first album, “Kiss & Tell,” with her band Selena Gomez & the Scene in 2009. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number nine on the Billboard 200 chart.

Gomez continued to act in films and television shows while also pursuing her music career. She appeared in the films “Ramona and Beezus” and “Monte Carlo” in 2010 and 2011, respectively. In 2012, she starred in the gritty drama film “Spring Breakers,” which was a departure from her previous roles.

In addition to her acting and music careers, Gomez has also been involved in philanthropic work. She was appointed as a UNICEF ambassador in 2009 and has worked to promote various causes, including clean water initiatives and HIV/AIDS awareness.

By the time Gomez turned 21 in 2013, she had become one of the most recognizable faces in entertainment, with a successful acting and music career, as well as a commitment to giving back to the community. Her career continued to flourish in the years that followed, solidifying her status as a multi-talented and influential artist.
