The Voice 2014 set to get spin-off show on BBC Two

The Voice UK will get it’s own spin-off show similar to the Xtra Factor.

But the show, the first since the series began on UK telly in 2012, will follow the format of Strictly’s current BBC Two counterpart It Takes Two, airing every weekday.

And just like It Takes Two, the spin-off show will be hosted by telly presenter Zoe Ball.

The BBC2 programme will feature regular interviews with The Voice UK coaches Will.i.am, Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson, as well as celebrity guests and fans, along with backstage gossip, show news and extra chats and performances from the contestants.

It’s hoped that the spin-off will not only boost the ratings of the main show but also allow us viewers get to know the acts more and therefore help them in the charts once the show is over.

“I’m super excited to be involved,” Zoe said. “Fans can think of me as the nosy naughty one who can ask the questions we all want answering — and I promise not to sing.”

Moira Ross, show producer at programme makers Wall to Wall, added: “Having a spin-off series means we can give fans unprecedented access and tell the stories we don’t have time to cover on BBC1.”

The Voice UK continues next Saturday night on BBC One.

The spin-off show will begin once the live shows start next month.
