HAIRSPRAY UK tour producer Mark Goucher, has revealed that he wants the musical to transfer to the West End next year.

He goes on about how the tour is “obviously a little more economical than the original production” and that “in the right theatre it could sit down and just run for a very long time”.

Goucher adds, “I am so proud of the entire company! When I go around the country to see it, night after night everyone stands up and goes nuts. It’s amazing! Just talking about it now there is a lump in my throat! I’m so glad I’ve finally got my hands on it!”

It’s Baltimore, 1962 where Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way onto national TV. Tracy’s audition makes her a local star and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for equality, bagging local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way!
