Susan Boyle reveals she’s desperate for ‘good fairy’ panto role

Susan Boyle has toured the world singing to sell-out crowds, performing for the Pope, performed a duet with her hero Donny Osmond, and generally living a life any A-list singing superstar might expect – but the Scottish star still has one ambition in life she’d like to fulfil: performing in panto.

The Blackburn-based singer is a massive fan of the slapstick festive theatre shows and has a burning desire to get up on stage and play the role of the good fairy, according to panto legend Dean Park.

Dean bumped into Susan during the recent Dolly Parton concerts at the Hydro arena in Glasgow, and she let slip her dream to him.

“I couldn’t believe it when Susan told me it was her big wish. She just loves pantomimes and goes to see as many as she can every year,” Dean told the Daily Record.

“But nobody has ever asked her to be in one and she’s dying to play the good fairy. If I could make her wish come true I’d be the happiest panto dame around.”

Dean added: “She’s so sweet. I’d love to see her up there having fun.”

Susan meanwhile is gearing up for her first North American tour, kicking off in San Diego in California in October this year, before moving onto other locations including Texas, Arizona, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina and Georgia.

We wonder if when the tour wraps up at the beginning of November Susan might be planning to pencil in an appearance in one of the pantomimes taking place across the UK?
