Clean Bandit spend their third week at No.1 in UK singles chart

The London quartet Clean Bandit have managed to stay at No. 1 for a third consecutive week.

‘Rather Be’ featuring vocalist Jess Glynne has now sold a whopping 402,000 copies in total.

Behind Clean Bandit at No. 2 is Pharrell Williams with ‘Happy’ which has crept up one place.

The only new entry to this week’s chart comes from DJ Fresh, Jay Fay and Ms Dynamite with ‘Dibby Dibby Sound’ debuting at No. 3.

The top five is completed by ‘Feelin’ Myself’ by Will.i.am featuring Miley Cyrus and Wiz Khalifa down two to No. 4, and ‘Timber’ by Pitbull and Ke$ha up one to No. 5.

The highest climber in this week’s chart comes from sibling duo Disclosure as their track ‘F For You’ has risen 118 places to reach No. 29. The Grammy-nominated pair released a new mix of the song earlier this week featuring Mary J. Blige.

Bombay Bicycle Club achieve their first No.1 UK album

British indie band Bombay Bicycle Club have reached the top of the UK album chart for the first time.

The band’s fourth LP ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’ has debuted at No. 1 and outsold its closest rival by over 6000 copies.

The rest of the top five is shaped by Avicii’s ‘True’ up two to No. 2, ‘Halcyon’ by Ellie Goulding now sits at No. 3, London Grammar’s ‘If You Wait’ is up three to No. 4 and Beyoncé’s self-titled album is down two to No. 5.

Other than Bombay Bicycle Club, other new entries to this week’s chart come from Dutch act Within Temptation whose album ‘Hydra’ is at No. 6, Maximo Park are at No. 7 with ‘Too Much Information’, Broken Bells are in at No. 12 with ‘After The Disco’, Seth Lakeman’s ‘Word Of Mouth’ at No. 20 and Suzanne Vega’s ‘Tales From The Realm Of The Queen Of Pentacles’ debuts at No. 37.

Ahead of Valentine’s Day on February 14, a couple of romantically-themed collections have also made their way into the chart. ‘Love Songs’, a Best Of collection from Tina Turner, has reached No. 32 and Andre Rieu and The Johann Strauss Orchestra’s ‘Love Letters’ enters at No. 35.
