Who are the true fan favourites in this S6 Game of Thrones

When we last saw our favourite Game of Thrones characters at the end of season 5, everyone seemed to be in a pretty bad way, one character in particular was in an extremely bad way. Now we finally get to see how they cope and whether they make it out the otherside.

Game of Thrones is one of those shows in which everyone has their own favourite character and their own unique reasons for loving them. There are so many characters in fact, that it can be sometimes difficult to know exactly who to root for, even the most evil characters have a likeable quality or at least we love to hate them.

The guys over at Casino Bonus Tips recently ran a survey, to find out which house flag fans will be flying this season. You might think you already know who the most beloved characters are, but there a few that may also surprise you. Here are the top 10 characters fans voted for as their favourites.

Game of Thrones

Jon Snow
Of course Jon Snow is at the top of the pile. One of the shows most quoted and loved characters, fans were shocked and distraught when we left him in season 5, but hope was still there and despite his fate, we are still firmly on team Snow.

Tyrion Lannister
The only Lannister we all know and love unconditionally. The imp has been a fan favourite from day 1 and we’ve seen him grow from being the runt of the litter to the strongest and most loyal member of house Lannister.

Arya Stark
The youngest daughter of Ned and Catelyn Stark, Arya showed promise very early on with her desire to join the boys and learn to fight like her brothers. Over the seasons she’s travelled far and wide, lost the majority of her family, yet still remains one of the strongest and most deadly characters.

Daenerys Targaryen
The mother of dragons herself, Daenerys is one of the strongest female characters in the show. She has risen from being a Westeros outcast, being abused by her power hungry brother and become a queen. She has come a long way from being the victim and her mix of humility and regality makes her one of the most interesting characters.

Ned Stark
Despite only featuring in the very first season of the show, Ned Stark’s swift demise set all motions into play. He remains a fan favourite, probably thanks to Sean Bean’s amazing portrayal of him.

Joffrey Baratheon
Arguably the most hated character in the history of television. No matter what the many evil and sadistic things Joffrey did during his reign, fans love to hate him. From the very first time we see him, it was obvious he would be trouble, with Tyrion giving him a very satisfying slap in the first few episodes of season 1.

Lord Varys
In the beginning it was difficult to pin-point where exactly Varys’ loyalty lay, with him constantly sneaking around collecting secrets from all houses. It was revealed in season 5 that he actually believes Daenerys to be the rightful heir to the iron throne and that’s when we all knew we could trust him.

Bran Stark
An unusual entrant for fan favourite considering he didn’t appear at all throughout season 5.

Bran was paralysed after falling from the tower at the very beginning of season 1, but he has since developed some pretty impressive abilities and looks set to be a very big part of season 6.

Hodor
The lovable giant that can only say his own name, he is basically the Groot of Game of Thrones. Hodor is Bran’s trusted friend and protector, and his sweet nature has carved a firm place in fans hearts.

Sansa Stark
Sansa is the marmite of the show, you either love her or hate her. It appears however that a fair few people have warmed to her, with her debuting in at number 10. Sansa has been through hell, after losing her family and being abused at the hands of Joffrey, being forced to marry Tyrion in an attempt to humiliate her, then having to flee for her life, then being married to the evil man that betrayed her family, she’s not had the easiest of times.

However, she seems to be coming into her own and a lot of fans are excited to see what she does during season 6.

Season 6 of Game of Thrones premieres on Sky Atlantic and there is no doubt that it will continue to rake in the views. If you haven’t checked out GoT yet, you best get your box sets ready, carve out some time and start binge watching immediatley.
