Nicole was a popular judge on The X Factor for 3 series (2012, 2013 and 2016), and won over fans with her unique sense of humour and for wearing amazing dresses.
38-year-old singer Nicole Scherzinger has now reportedly signed on for another season of The X Factor following rumours Mariah Carey was after her chair.
The “Shamazing” singer returned to the panel of the ITV talent show for the 2016 series, alongside fellow judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, and now is said to have signed on the dotted line for this year’s season after allegations that Mariah was in line for her spot on the panel.
“Nicole is so highly thought off by X Factor that there was always the intention to tie her down for another year,” a source revealed. “Once she heard other names being mentioned, she was keen to get her deal locked down and it’s now there to sign.”
MarkMeets can reveal that Nicole was paid a massive £1.8million to return to the panel last time around to bring the glamour to the ITV talent show.
It remains to be seen how Nicole will manage her time considering she is also working on a new music project with will.i.am as well as apparently being in talks to lead the cast of a Wicked movie musical.
However, Nicole’s rumoured decision to stay on the show doesn’t mean that Mariah won’t be involved in some capacity.
Mariah could earn herself a judging spot on the show if Sharon doesn’t return for the 2017 series due to her bad back and commitments with U.S. chat show The Talk.
“Mariah’s name is still in the frame and, given it’s X Factor, it’s safer not to rule anything out,” the source added.
Mel B is now on the standby list if both Mariah and Sharon are unavailable when auditions begin later this year.
