5SOS claim despite success they are not yet millionaires

5SOS reveal the one thing they would buy if they became rich…a home!

Aussie pop-punkers 5 Seconds Of Summer have opened up about what they would buy if they were rich and one thing they all agreed on was some home comfort.

During a new interview with Howard Stern, the lads were asked if they are rich yet and they joked that they still haven’t seen a significant financial return on their commercial success: “We’ve been told that, ‘yeah, you’ll be a millionaire soon’, but it’s like, ‘alright, hey, I’m really, really tired!'”

Radio DJ and talent judge Stern then quizzed them on what they would buy if a couple of million ended up in their individual bank accounts and frontman Luke Hemmings said: “I’d like to get somewhere, unpack my suitcase and put my s**t down.”

Ashton Irwin then joked that at the moment, he’s living out of a suitcase and can’t even afford to rent out a storage space to keep his belongings safe: “I actually thought of getting a storage unit, but it was too expensive. The thing is, we haven’t unpacked in three years.”

The ‘She’s Kinda Hot’ heartthrobs added that living in hotels is just something they’ve grown accustomed to: “You get used to it, it’s just what we do. We have a stylist that will bring us clothes… it’s just because we don’t get time to go shopping.”

5 Seconds of Summer lands its second straight No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart, as its new Sounds Good Feels Good set debuts atop the tally. The album was released on Oct. 23 through Hi Or Hey/Capitol Records and moved 192,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Oct. 29, according to Nielsen Music. (Of that sum, 179,000 were in pure album sales.)
