Jordan O’Keefe to do a Twitter Q&A takeover on @MarkMeets

19 year old singer songwriter Jordan O’Keefe  became one of the hottest new properties in the UK music business by reaching the finals of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent last year and tonight he will exclusively be taking questions directly from our twitter account @MarkMeets

Jordan O’Keefe will be inviting fans to tweet in questoions our account using #AskJordanOKeefe so join us at tonight at 8pm. Jordy joins a host of stars who have taken over the @MarkMeets twitter account from Boyband Concept to 911 and District3.

As a 2013 Britain’s Got Talent finalist, Judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden & Alesha Dixon approved of & highly praised him from start to finish, through initial audition, public performance, televised semi-final & final. They didn’t like him; like the audience, they loved him!

David Walliams said he was a “Readymade pop star”, whilst Alesha Dixon added “I could listen to you all night, if you’ve an album I want to buy it”

Jordan’s persistence was rewarded when he auditioned for the 2013 edition of Britain’s Got Talent, causing Simon Cowell to predict very big things for the likeable Irish boy, before he cruised through to the finals of the highly popular Simon Cowell-built ITV talent show in its 7th

He might not have won BGT, but One Direction, JLS & Olly Murs didn’t win X Factor, & their careers are on the up and up. He has since been on a UK arena tour & played live to over 150,000 people, including a show at the G8 summit in County Fermanagh.

He has performed with Ed Sheeran, JLS & Professor Green, with his own concerts sold out. So world-leaders approve of him & industry stand-outs predict more.

He has fame, a growing army of growing young fans, & a life that many young persons his age would dream of. Life is sweet enough to tweet! When you’re trendy enough to trend on Twitter!

But like anyone, he had to start somewhere & at the age of 16 he was introduced to his manager Chris Hughes & given his first opportunity to play a concert at the Oh Yeah Music Centre in Belfast.

More gigs followed these small beginnings over the next 2 years & he built up a growing amount of  buzz with his Youtube clips. It turns out his appeal is not confined to one age or one kind of crowd.

While fame came to him pretty quickly via the power of television, he is happy working with and singing to a live audience, whether in an arena or more intimately in a smaller venue. He describes the angst of young love with the emotion of his voice & writes songs & lyrics originally from the madness & drama of personal experience.

He has also supported or worked alongside Professor Green, JLS, Union J, Zane Lowe, & classical musicians Jonathan & Charlotte.

Anyone who watched BGT knows that if it hadn’t been for Jordan’s success on the show, his next step was meant to be to study for a music course, but his dad insisted on a business course: well this way of thinking is something still useful to help a young artist intent on following his musical dream.

So his ‘head-screwed-on’ attitude means he has engaged with Chris Hughes’ schools music business project The Enterprise Factor because he’s keen to help other young people experience what the music business is really like. He’s also an ambassador for both the Prince’s Trust & the Princess Diana foundation, epitomising what both these royal organisations want to discover in youth. He has played gigs in London, Dundalk & Belfast for them.

Catch this young man up close while you can… He is taking a residency or two near you! He is writing and developing his own identity, before releasing his first solo singer/songwriter album.

Jordan’s first written and performed single will be released in March 2014.

Planned 2014: o2 Academy tour, April 2014, special guest of Anttix, Shrewsbury, Cardiff, London, Liverpool, Bristol tbc.
