Sony at E3 2017

Sony has reportedly sold around one million PlayStation VR headsets since it launched the device and it seems to be successfully pursuing the medium with software, too. Both Farpoint and Starblood Arena PSVR games have gone down well with MarkMeets readers.

At E3 this year it should be expected that Sony will continue with its push on games, both for PlayStation models and also VR. What we know about already is that we’ll see more of Spider-Man, Days Gone, and Detroit. There may also be extra VR peripherals or updates to the PlayStation VR lines as part of Sony’s showing.

Nintendo at E3 2017

This year’s E3 will be the first since Nintendo released its much admired Switch console. It’ll come as no surprise that Nintendo will have a large focus on the device and games for it – as well as games for the 3DS. What we can expect is a version of Fifa for the Switch, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Sonic Mania and more. There could also be more of a smartphone offering from Nintendo, after the hit of Super Mario Run at the end of last year.

Xbox at E3 2017

Microsoft will be hoping to steal the cast majority of headlines at this year’s E3. Leading its lineup will be more details on the forthcoming Xbox console that’s been dubbed ‘Project Scorpio’. The console is expected to offer native 4K gaming and work with virtual reality headsets. Microsoft first announced the console at E3 last year and says it is going to be the most powerful console ever.

Ahead of the event, Mike Ybarra, the vice president of Xbox and Windows gaming at Microsoft tweeted a picture of a new chip that’s included in the Xbox. He has also said the device will have 12BG of RAM, with 9GB reserved for games and 3GB left for the console itself.

There’ll also be a healthy number of new Xbox games announced at Microsoft’s event. These are likely to include Crackdown 3, a new version of Forza, and the pirate adventure Sea of Thieves.
