Sharon Osbourne set to return to X Factor in £2 million deal

TV Judge Sharon Osbourne is set to return to The X Factor for another series in 2017.

Simon Cowell had hoped to keep last year’s judges the same for this year but Sharon had suggested that she may be forced to quit the ITV show.

Sharon revealed “I would love to come back but I’m in a difficult position”.

Speaking ahead of the final, Sharon revealed: “I’m signed to CBS [in America] and I’ve been with them for seven years with amazing women on The Talk and it’s up to Simon to see if they’ll let me do it.

“My whole life is travel so if I hadn’t been here I would’ve been in South America with Ozzy so the travelling doesn’t bother me it’s that I had to keep going back each week for the show.”

However now according to the Daily Mirror, Sharon has agreed a £2 million deal to stay on The X Factor.

A source told the tabloid: “Sharon looks like she is returning to the X Factor, and has been telling people that it is a done deal.

“She will film the auditions in the summer, and then jet to and from London for the live shows.”

However the insider revealed: “While that has gone on, her deal at The Talk [on CBS in America] for the next year is not finalized. She has to re-sign for another year for a another season in the next few weeks. The fact that she is negotiating the X Factor deal before this could complicate matters.”

As for the other judges, Louis Walsh previously declared he WILL be back on The X Factor for at least the next two years.

The Irish music mogul has announced he’ll be sticking firmly in his seat after leaving it for the first time ever in 2015.

Louis said: “Yes, I’m back next year. I’ve signed for the next two years.”

Nicole Scherzinger has been more coy, saying: “I can’t confirm that I’m going to (be back) but I think if I did return it would have to be with this panel because I’m really close with this panel.

If we do get the same judges on The X Factor next year it’ll be the first time since 2010 that they’ve stayed the same for two series in a row.

Dermot O’Leary has already been confirmed as host for another series.

The X Factor 2017 will air on ITV later this year.
