Sheridan Smith trained for Black Work TV role

Sheridan Smith says even training camp wasn’t sufficient to set her up for the physical requests of her part in ITV’s new mental thriller Black Work.

The performing artist, who as of late featured in The C Word, plays a police constable whose spouse – another officer – is murdered in suspicious circumstances. Her own examinations uncover that he had been working covert, tossing everything into inquiry.

Taping has been difficult. “Tomorrow I’ll be running, trailed by a Steadicam on a quad bicycle – I don’t know how quick they think I can run!

“I did go to a training camp however I went around three weeks too soon and began eating pizza once more. Ideally I’ll be OK… ”

The 33-year-old performing artist said the requests of her calendar had implied she wasn’t ready to invest much energy with her guardians: “I haven’t seen them as much as I generally do in light of the fact that its been consecutive.”

Nonetheless, she uncovered that, when she does get time off, she jumps at the chance to loosen up by watching reality shows like Four In A Bed and Come Dine With Me: “They’re my liable joys! I adore observing genuine individuals and that is the place I get my character

Black Work airs on ITV from June 21 at 9pm.
