Rita Ora pursued a singing career to “make her parents happy”, as she wants to make “loads of money” so that her parents never have to work again

The 30-year-old ‘Hot Right Now’ singer has revealed that her parents, Vera and Besnik, are the “driving force” behind her desire to “make loads of money” from her career, because she wanted to make sure they never have to work again after sacrificing so much when they first moved to the UK from Kosovo when Rita was young.

Despite an estimated wealth of £20m, the star seriously splashes the cash! She said: “I wanted to make them happy. I didn’t want them to ever work again. [When the family first arrived in Britain] my dad was working three jobs at once and my mum didn’t speak any English and was learning how to be a doctor and beating breast cancer all at the same time.

A regular on the red carpet at London film premieres she said: “I was like, ‘I want to make loads of money so I can make sure that they’re happy.’ That was my driving force for a long time. I wanted to create a world where I was untouchable, I could basically have whatever I wanted and give my parents whatever they wanted. And now they’re happy and healthy, they do not leave me alone! They call me every five minutes, I’m like, ‘Go away!’ ”

She said: “I did my first when I was 24. I don’t want to feel the pressure of, ‘Oh gosh, we’re running out of time’. It’s not fair that we have to feel that, you know? And men sort of go around town, like, not thinking about it.”

Rita who lives in London is currently romancing 39-year-old video director Romain Gavras, whom she was introduced to by friends shortly before the UK was plunged into lockdown amid the coronavirus pandemic in March.

In other headlines, Rita Ora broke self-isolation rule by throwing birthday party after paid private gig in Egypt saying she was mis-guided.

But it seems the party wasn’t the only rule the pop star was willing to breach as it’s now been revealed she had flown by private jet to Cairo, Egypt, on November 21 to perform at the five-star W Hotel, and failed to self-isolate on her return to the UK a day later.

Under current government rules, she should have put herself in quarantine for 14 days when she got home.

She added: “I feel particularly embarrassed knowing first-hand how hard people have worked to combat this terrible illness and being fully aware of the sacrifices that people and businesses have made to help keep us all safe.

“Even though this won’t make it right, I want to sincerely apologise.”
