Tom Holland isn’t fond of Hollywood and wants to spend more time at home in Kingston upon Thames in a £3million house with superstar girlfriend Zendaya
The “Spider-Man: No Way Home” star, 27, admitted that the entertainment industry is “not for him” despite his undying love for filmmaking.
“Look, I really am a massive fan of making movies but I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me,” the British actor said “The business really scares me. I understand that I’m a part of that business, and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it.”
Holland continued, “But that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it, to kind of just live as normal a life as possible.”
“Today, doing this [podcast] is a very rare thing for me to do,”.
Holland said some of his pals have “lost themselves” in the entertainment industry and fear of the same happening to him.
“I definitely think it has been an ongoing thought, which is don’t lose yourself,” said Holland, who is dating “Euphoria” star Zendaya.
“I’ve seen so many people come before me and lose themselves, and I’ve had friends that I’ve grown up with that aren’t friends of mine anymore, because they’ve lost themselves to this business.”
“I just am really, really keen to focus on what makes me happy, which is my family, it’s my friends. It’s my carpentry, my golf, the charity that my mom runs,” he went on.
“Like, that is the stuff that makes me really happy, and that’s the stuff that I should protect.”
Holland also detailed how he realized he was “definitely addicted to alcohol” when trying to commit to a month of no drinking.
After trying out “Dry January” and feeling the urge to drink, Holland — who recently announced he was taking a break from acting — realized “all I could think about was having a drink.
“I was waking up thinking about it. I was checking the clock … And it just really scared me,” he explained.
“Maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing. So I sort of decided to punish myself and say, I’ll do February as well. I’ll do two months off.”
Holland said he was “really struggling” after going dry for two months, which led him to fear that he may have “an alcohol problem.”
