5 Things You Need For Your First Film Premiere

If you’ve been invited to your first film premiere, you’re probably very excited. You’re also probably wondering what a film premiere actually is. What happens? What should you wear? How does it all work? Don’t panic! Here’s a list of five must have things to make it a wonderful experience.

A Celebrity Outfit

Firstly, you need to check your invitation because some film premieres have a specific dress code. You may be asked to wear black tie or perhaps the organisers have a theme in mind. However, if no dress code is provided, all you need to do is find something that makes you feel like a million dollars. You won’t be walking the red carpet, so you won’t have to worry about your picture appearing in a magazine somewhere, but you will feel out of place if you don’t make an effort. Just remember, it’s the one night when you’ll get to feel like a star.

Arrive in Style

“Why not make a night of it and hire special transport such as a Texas Lubbock bus to get you there?” Sipping champagne in the back of a limo will make you feel extra special and people may even mistake you for a celebrity as you arrive. You could even spice up your own vehicle by getting private number plates. If you want to go above and beyond, why not hire a Lamborghini or other sports car to drive to the event? For many people, that’s two dreams come true in one night.

Take I.D

The not so fun part is remembering to take all of your documentation. Checking your purse for your I.D before you leave the house may put a little dampener on things but the last thing you want is to be refused entry because you can’t get your tickets. You’ll need to take your official invitation and any other confirmation of your invite to the event. They will be thoroughly checked when you arrive so be sure to have them handy as you pull up.

Forget the Red Carpet

Many people who are invited to film premieres get excited about walking the red carpet. Rubbing shoulders with celebrities, seeing the flashing of bright lights from cameras, feeling like a super star. The truth is, unless you’re a celebrity, you probably won’t set foot on the red carpet. Most people gain access to the theatre via a completely different entrance. So, if you’re hoping for the best experience of your life, you may have to do a lot to create it yourself.

You Can’t Talk to Celebs

You’ll be inside the theatre with the celebrities attending the movie (you may even be in the same popcorn line). However, no press are allowed inside which means celebs aren’t generally approached by fans. If you want to talk to a favourite celebrity, the best place to do it is at the after party. If you can get an invite to that, that’s where most people mingle well and you’ll be able to strike up a conversation.

Enjoy!
