Fans will now have to wait until the first half of 2023 to get their hands on Homeworld 3, the upcoming revival of the cosmic real-time strategy series.
Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive announced that they would be delaying the game “to make good on our commitment to quality in a healthy and sustainable way for all those involved”.
News about the upcoming title isn’t far out, however, and the studio reassured players that they’ll get a closer look at the game during Gamescom 2022.
“Blackbird Interactive is building the Homeworld game that players have always dreamed of and we are excited to share the deepest look yet at Homeworld 3 during gamescom later this summer,” the Tweet reads.
Homeworld 3 was originally announced in 2019, though rumors about the game have been around since the 2000s.
