Nominees and winners are chosen by the BRIT Awards voting academy, made up of more than 1,000 members of the music industry. Some prizes are put to a public vote.

What Happened With the 2026 Nominations

Looking back helps you read the new list. The 2026 nominations totalled 92. Olivia Dean and Lola Young led with five each, and Sam Fender followed with four. Wolf Alice, Dave, Fred again.. and Jim Legxacy each landed in three categories.

Pulp picked up their first BRIT nomination in 30 years, and the soundtracks to Wicked and KPop Demon Hunters both made the cut. Around 69% of the nominations went to women and non-binary artists.
