James Corden joked: ”Why wouldn’t it be? I’m from High Wycombe.

”What are the chances of a chubby guy – and I’m being generous – going to America and hosting a talk show every night being anything other than a complete mistake?”

The past Brits host and ‘Gavin & Stacey’ star is moving to Los Angeles with his wife, Julia and two kids: Max, three and one-month-old Carey to have the show – has kidded that he has as of now had a run-in with the show’s makers.

He explained: ”It’s so funny. They called the other day and wanted me to cut together a sizzle reel for the show of great moments in my career that they could play to sponsors.

”So we sent it to them. They said, ‘It’s great but have you got any stuff of you just interviewing someone?’ And we were like, ‘No! That’s our point. It doesn’t exist – you’re taking a huge risk!”’

James has admitted that he is nervous about his upcoming role and even considered the thought that the producers chose him so they can cancel the show.

The chubby star added: ”It did cross my mind that they’re trying to kill the format.

”They might have thought, ‘We don’t need another chat show at 12.30am. How can we just kill it off so we don’t have to do this any more? I know – let’s get that guy.”’
