Actress Keira Knightley has sensationally revealed that she never got an invite to her prom!

The ‘Pride & Prejudice’ actress had to attend her high school dance with a girlfriend because no boys asked her to be their date.

Keira explained: ”We don’t really have proms in England, not in the American way. So I actually turned up late and went with one of my best girl friends, because nobody asked either of us to prom. We were each other’s dates, which was fun.

”She’s great, she’s one of my best mates still. We had a lovely time and we didn’t care that nobody had asked us, we asked each other.”

The 29-year-old screen beauty also admitted that she ”hated” being a teenager so it was particularly interesting for her to play her character Megan in her new film ‘Laggies’, because her alter ego desperately wants to cling onto her youth.

Keira said: ”It’s a funny thing really because I hated being a teenager and I was never really interested in doing teenage films. I always just wanted to be out of that whole period of my life.

”So I sort of liked playing somebody who had a completely different experience, who absolutely loved it and identified with that part of their life as being the period.”

Keira stars in ‘Laggies’ with ChloÃ« Grace Moretz and Sam Rockwell.
