Kim Kardashian wants Downton Abbey role

US reality star Kim Kardashian fancies a role in British period drama Downton Abbey.

The 33-year-old American television and social media personality wants to follow Hollywood star George Clooney and have a role in the show.

Despite winning a Razzie for worst supporting actress earlier this year, Kim is hoping for a role in the Golden Globe-winning series.

“I’m a big fan. I’d love to be on it if they asked. I love things like that.”

Apparently Kardashian approached Laura Carmchael, who plays Lady Edity Crawley, about the change of a cameo.

It was revealed this month that George Clooney landed a role on the Christmas special thanks to his friendship with Hugh Bonneville, who plays the Earl of Grantham.

The 53-year-old actor will play an American wedding guest at the country estate.

A source said: “George and Hugh became really close during filming and it became very clear that George loved Downton.

“He would joke around about the idea of getting a part so Hugh helped put the wheels in motion to make it happen.”
