Kylie Minogue has launched a bid to stop Kylie Jenner trademarking first name
47 year-old Kylie Minogue who has been famous worldwide for over 30 years has begun legal action to oppose Kylie Jenner trademarking her first name.
Australian legal firm KDB, who is representing the singer, last week filed papers to block Jenner from gaining ownership of their first name.
The opposition claims that if reality TV star Jenner trademarked ‘Kylie’ then Minogue’s fans would be left confused.
It added that Jenner is a “secondary reality television personality”.
Minogue’s full name, however, is safe.
The Australian already owns the trademark for ‘Kylie Minogue’.
The singer’s music career started with the 1987 single ‘Locomotion’, which was released ten years before Jenner was even born.
