Do you think you could take on Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing in a game of poker? Well that’s exactly what the public is being offered a chance to win $100,000
The heir to the McVitie’s biscuit empire – his great-great-grandad actually invented Jaffa Cakes, rich tea biscuits and even the digestive biscuits – first entered our screens way back in season 2 of Made in Chelsea and is perhaps more known for his womanizing than his card games. Or at least he was until fellow Made in Chelsea star Jess Woodley broke the 27-year-old’s heart on the show in October last year to the extent that he wished that he had power to have her axed from the show in order to make his heartbreak less.
Of course a broken heart can motivate you to excel in other areas of your life and that’s exactly what Laing has been doing including working on his gluten free, that are now available in the likes of Tesco and Waitrose and are getting more and more popular amongst consumers.
Especially with flavors such as Eton mess and sour watermelon. Described as sweets for the fashionable, Laing is even branching his Candy Kittens brand into clothing.
The company is at the moment crowdfunding £300,000 in order to raise the brand’s profile through advertising. Indeed, investors will be rewarded with a 7.5% stake in the business. So if you fancy being part of a company that could be as big as the next biscuit, best get a move on.
When Laing hasn’t been working hard on his entrepreneur skills, the Made in Chelsea star was spotted stripping off on holiday after some wine tasting. Clearly there was no spitting the wine out as the star’s Instagram photo showed him wearing nothing but a wine cooler to protect his modesty. His co-star Alex Mytton even stuck up a cheeky snap of Laing and a friend skinny dipping – a picture that was probably meant for private messaging only!
So with all this heartbreak, hard work and stripping, where did Laing find the time to practice his poker skills? The Cobra tournament, which takes place on the 31st January, will see a team of select celebrity ‘bounty players’ put against the general public and if you win against a bounty player you’ll instantly bag yourself $2000. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it?
Of course you’ll have to take on other celebrity poker guests such as professional poker player Simon Trumper and former professional boxer and poker fan Carl Froch. So perhaps the tournament is best left to the professionals, while the rest of us non-poker players just want to see whether Jamie Laing is as good at playing cards as he is making sweets. Perhaps we might even see some poker nights on Made in
Chelsea in the future.
