MarkMeets Exclusive: Nikki Glaser Set to Return as Host of the 2026 Golden Globes

While the awards season has just wrapped up, anticipation is already building for the 2026 Golden Globes. CBS and the Golden Globes announced on Thursday that the talented Nikki Glaser will reprise her role as host for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, scheduled to air in January 2026 on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+ with Showtime in the U.S.

“I had an absolute blast hosting the Golden Globes this year; it was the most enjoyable experience of my career,” Glaser stated . “I’m beyond excited to do it all over again, especially in front of the team from ‘The White Lotus,’ who are finally going to recognize my true talent and cast me in Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a mysterious background.”

Helen Hoehne, President of the Golden Globes, praised Glaser’s previous performance, stating, “Nikki Glaser infused the Golden Globes stage with a refreshing spark and fearless wit last year. Her sharp humor and strong presence set the tone for a truly unforgettable night, making the ceremony lively and, most importantly, fun.”

On Thursday, March 13, Glaser received a strong endorsement when it was confirmed she would return to host the Golden Globes, a full 10 months ahead of the 2026 ceremony.

Making her hosting debut in January, Glaser led the CBS broadcast to attract 10.1 million viewers, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the previous year’s livestream audience on Paramount+ and the CBS App.

Given her past success, Glaser’s return comes as no surprise. After a somewhat lackluster performance by comedian Jo Koy, she emerged as a standout host. One of her memorable moments included a planned parody mashup of “Popular” from “Wicked” and “Conclave,” titled “Pope-ular,” where she came on stage donning a papal mitre and wielding a golden staff, only to humorously cut it short after pretending to receive a producer’s note that the sketch needed to end because “this whole thing sucks.”

“Hosting the Golden Globes was definitely the highlight of my career,” Glaser reiterated in the announcement. “I can’t wait to do it again, and this time, I hope to impress the team from ‘The White Lotus’ who will finally see my talent and cast me for Season Four as a Scandinavian Pilates instructor with a shadowy past.”

However, ratings for the 2025 ceremony were slightly below the numbers seen during Koy’s stint in 2024. The Globes reported an average viewership of 10.1 million, whereas Nielsen data indicated it was slightly lower at 9.3 million, a slight dip from 9.4 million in 2024.

Glaser, celebrated as the “Comedian of the Year” by the New York Times, is currently touring with her “Alive and Unwell” show across the U.S., Canada, and Australia until October 2025. She is also the host and executive producer of “Lovers and Liars,” a spinoff of the reality dating series “FBoy Island.”

Making history, Glaser was the first solo female host of the Golden Globes in January, following previous collaborations involving well-known duos like Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, as well as other female hosts paired with male counterparts throughout the years.

Social media reactions to her hosting were overwhelmingly positive, especially after a performance filled with clever jokes about Diddy, Selena Gomez, patterns from “Wicked,” and a memorable bit involving Adam Sandler and Timothée Chalamet that drew cheers at the Oscars.

Hoehne expressed her enthusiasm for Glaser’s return telling MarkMeets media “Nikki Glaser ignited the Golden Globes stage with her vibrant energy and fearless humor this year. Her wit and commanding presence set the tone for an exciting evening, making the ceremony lively and genuinely enjoyable.”

Promotional graphics for the 2026 event, featuring Glaser prepared for action in golden boxing gloves, announce that the celebration will once again take place in January, though specific dates have yet to be confirmed.

The Golden Globes are produced by Dick Clark Productions, part of Penske Media Corporation, which also owns Billboard.
