Ryan Reynolds appreciates his success but wants another child

Ryan Reynolds feels “grateful” for his career longevity.

The 46-year-old Deadpool star has become one of the most bankable actors in Hollywood over the last decade and “can earn $20 million upfront to star in a movie”.

Ryan is thrilled that he’s managed to survive for so long in the movie industry and joked: “I feel like I’m getting old. And then I realise, yeah, I’ve been around. I’ve been doing this job for over 30 years now. It’s a long time to do anything. And I’m lucky that I’ve been able to do it for 30 years.

“So much in the spirit of feeling grateful for the ability to do this job for this long and stay in the industry, that can be very quickly be done with you. I’m approaching that honour with the same kind of gratitude.”

Ryan and his wife Blake Lively are expecting their fourth baby together. But Ryan isn’t sure whether the process will be any easier this time around.

The ‘Deadpool’ star – who has James, seven, Inez, six, and Betty, three, with Blake – told E! News: “I mean, the things we know are going to help us get through things a little bit quicker. But I don’t know. Anything can happen.”

Meanwhile, Ryan became the co-owner of Welsh soccer team Wrexham AFC in 2021, and he previously revealed that he’s been leaning on David Beckham for advice.

The actor – who co-owns Wrexham with actor Rob McElhenney – shared: “He’s possibly just the nicest guy on planet earth – what’s not to love about him?

“He’s a great guy, so generous with his time.”

Ryan has also become obsessed with soccer since he bought Wrexham.

He said: “I hate to say it but I’m so obsessed with this sport now that I actually hate this sport.

“Like I wish it didn’t occupy my every thought so I am living for Saturday for our match on Saturday.”

Ryan Reynolds is preparing for baby number four.

It was announced earlier this year that the actor was expecting his fourth child with Blake Lively, and now, Reynolds is sharing his thoughts on the future of his stunt work in light of his growing family. In a Nov. 7 appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Reynolds said having another child has finally forced him to consider whether it’s time to cut back on some of his stunt work. He also shared whether he’s hoping for a boy or girl

“I’ve been doing action movies for 25 years, I’ve broken 12 bones, I just had a seventh surgery, and you know, kids though, they beat you up,” Reynolds told Fallon. “I’m rethinking doing stunts now because I’m starting to realize, like, I wanna be able to still be active with my kids and stuff,” describing how he tosses his girls up in the air, especially his youngest, Betty. “I can throw her high in the air, and she loves it,” he said. “The problem is I can’t catch her anymore. That’s the biggest issue I’m facing at the moment.”

Reynolds and Lively currently share three daughters together: James, 7, Inez, 6, and Betty, 3. As for their fourth child, Reynolds admitted he’s holding out for another girl. “We never find out. We always wait until they come down the chute,” he said. “I’m kind of hoping for a girl ’cause I know . . . I’m a bit of a hen myself, I know girls, I’m a girl dad, I’m used to that, I’m ready for that.” Reynolds added, “If history has taught us anything, [it’s that] if I have a son, one day my life will be taken by that son.”

Reynolds also explained in a Nov. 7 interview on the “Today” show that part of this preference stems from growing up with three brothers. “I was the youngest of four, and we were just arsonists and firemen,” he told cohosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.

Lively revealed her fourth pregnancy at the Forbes Power Women’s Summit on Sept. 15, which means the couple’s fourth child will most likely arrive in early 2023. Until then, Reynolds has plenty of time to cut back on stunts and practice catching his current children.

Ryan Reynolds Had Weight Loss Filming Musical ‘Spirited’

Ryan Reynolds experienced the exercise regimen of a lifetime: singing and dancing in a Christmas musical movie.

The “Spirited” star revealed he became “terribly sore” during production for the modern twist on “A Christmas Carol” opposite Will Ferrell.

“I felt like I was whittled down to next to nothing halfway through the movie,” Reynolds told People magazine of his weight loss. “I mean, we would wear those Fitbits and you’d see you get like 28,000 steps in a day. It was crazy.”

Reynolds’ “Deadpool 3” co-star, Tony winner Hugh Jackman, gave him advice for filming “Spirited” after a seven-week-long “theater camp” prep.

“He said to make sure that you are enjoying it because if you enjoy it, we’ll enjoy it,” Reynolds said. “And I thought that that was actually quite sage. It was very wise.”

“Spirited” centers on an updated Scrooge (Reynolds) who flips the script on the Ghost of Christmas Present (Ferrell) by forcing him to look at his own past, present, and future.

Plus, Reynolds had to tap back into his vocal chops after a “hell”-ish experience on “King of Masked Singer,” the Korean reality show inspiration for the stateside singing competition series “The Masked Singer.” Reynolds appeared on the show while promoting the “Deadpool” sequel.

“When I was there, I was like, ‘Why did I sign up to do this? This is horrible! This is truly horrible!” Reynolds recently shared. “‘I don’t know this song, I don’t know how to do this.’ It was traumatic. What’s crazy is I was in actual hell.”

Reynolds added of his 2018 appearance, “I’ve been doing this job a long time, and you go on these international tours, and you start saying, ‘What’s the weirdest show we can go on?’ This was before ‘The Masked Singer’ was in the U.S. So they said, ‘They have this show called “The Masked Singer,” which is huge in South Korea.’ I said, ‘We’re doing this show. We have to do that show’…At the time, no westerner had been on that show before, so it was a big surprise when I lost the mask.”

SPIRITED film premieres November 11 in theaters and November 18 on Apple TV+.
