32-year-old star singer Sarah Harding thinks Cheryl Cole needs to be ”thick-skinned” if she returns to ‘The X Factor’.
The star would like to see her former Girls Aloud bandmate back on the talent show’s judging panel but says the judges need to be able to withstand criticism and public interest as the show is so popular.
She said: ”I just think everyone’s gearing up for the show and drumming up publicity. You never know what to believe. It just goes to show that anyone who does that show has to be thick-skinned. They really do. You get a lot of stick. You’ve got to be ready for it.”
Despite rumours of in-fighting among the ‘Sound of the Underground’ girl group, Sarah insists she and her bandmates – also including Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts – are still incredibly close.
She told new maga: ”People forget Girls Aloud spent 12 years together. Of course there’s going to be arguments, but they’re part of life. And it doesn’t matter how long I haven’t seen some of my best friends, true friends don’t hold it against you if you haven’t spoken in a while.”
