It’s still a mystery what the Super Mario Bros movie will look like
Now Nintendo, Illumination, and Universal Pictures are about to clear that up with its first trailer. The companies announced that the debut teaser for the film will drop on October 6 at 4 p.m. ET during New York Comic-Con. This news also comes alongside its subtle name change.
Join us October 6th at 4pm ET for the teaser trailer premiere of Nintendo & Illumination’s upcoming Super Mario Bros. film, releasing April 7, 2023.
There are no other hints at what the teaser will have or how long it will be. The corresponding tweet only had a Question Block and the aforementioned dates, once again confirming its April 7, 2023 premiere date.
The press release, however, also noted of the film’s new name: The Super Mario Bros. It’s a slight change, only adding a “The” to the title, but it’s one that the project didn’t previously have.
This teaser will likely unveil Chris Pratt’s Mario voice, which has been a constant topic of discussion. Alongside Pratt, the rest of the cast includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike (which was previously announced). Mario’s traditional voice actor, Charles Martinet, will also be involved and have “surprise cameos in the movie.”
