Taylor Swift believes her friendship with Selena Gomez is the ”longest” they’ve both ever had.
The 24-year-old singer insists she shares a special bond with the ‘Come & Get It’ hitmaker because they’ve both been thrown into the limelight at such a young age.
She told ENews: ”It’s been the longest one [friendship] I think either of us had really. When your life changes and you become thrust into this really strange whirlwind where what your life is is different from what other people think your life is. And your life is commented on and your life is written about and fictionalised and all that. Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there through all the different changes we’ve gone through.
”Longevity is something you really can find very precious and rare in friendships.”
The blonde beauty recently admitted that she only hangs around with genuine people – such as Selena and Emma Stone – because they help her stay grounded.
She said previously: ”I don’t want people around me telling me what they think I’d like to hear. I love being surrounded by friends who are brutally honest and genuine.
”[We talk about] everything, except our work! It’s always about reconnecting with each other, talking about relationships, love and guys – all the basic things!”
