Will you be watching the new Top Gear in 2016?

Chris Evans has unveiled the new ‘Top Gear’ presenting team and Sabine Schmitz, Chris Harris and David Coulthard are to host the show alongside him.

Good decision or not? German racing driver Sabine Schmitz and motoring journalist Chris Harris are said to have been chosen to join the revamped BBC motoring show.

The BBC Radio 2 DJ – who signed a three year deal to host the show after Jeremy Clarkson was sacked for punching a producer earlier this year – has reportedly hired German racing driver Sabine Schmitz, motoring journalist Chris Harris and Formula 1 star David Coulthard to present alongside him.

”Sabine and Chris are virtually unknown to the wider public, and David isn’t the most charismatic driver.”

Schmitz – a 46-year-old professional German motor racing driver for BMW and Porsche who is also known for driving the BMW “ring taxi” around the Nürburgring race track – previously appeared on Top Gear in 2004, when she beat Clarkson in a race.

The show is undergoing a revamp following the departure of Clarkson and his colleagues James May and Richard Hammond, who are now set to present a new car show on Amazon Prime.

News of Evans’ co-hosts comes after it was revealed executive producer Lisa Clark quit this week after just five months while script editor Tom Ford is to leave at the end of his contract.

An insider said: ”Lisa is very well respected and her departure has been a real shock. There is a lot of upheaval at the moment.”
