Glastonbury festival 2023 ticket cost and where to buy

After an electrifying return earlier this year, the legendary Glastonbury festival will return in June 2023, with rumoured acts including Harry Styles, Eminem, plus outsides: Sir Elton John and Taylor Swift to join Arctic Monkeys

As the festival was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19, tickets rolled over to 2022, meaning it’s been some years since music lovers had to rush to secure a ticket online.

And seeing as the 2020 event sold out in 33 minutes, they’ll need to be quick.

The first batch of coach and ticket packages become available today, followed by general admission on Sunday.

The coach packages are part of the festival’s initiative to encourage festivalgoers to reduce audience transport emissions, and are released earlier than general admission.

What time do Glastonbury tickets go on sale?

Next year’s Glastonbury has been confirmed to take place from June 21 to 25 at Worthy Farm.

Tickets for Glastonbury 2023 will go on sale this week, organisers have revealed.

Fans will be able to purchase coach and ticket packages for next year’s Glastonbury from today at 6pm (Thursday, November 3), with standard tickets becoming available at 9am on Sunday (November 6).

You can buy them from the Glastonbury website.

Can you still register for tickets?

No, registration for tickets closed at 5pm on October 31.

The registration process was designed to stop ticket touts from buying up tickets, giving fans more of a chance to attend the five-day event.

What do the tickets cover and how much do they cost?

Tickets for 2023 will not be cheap. Prices have risen to an eye-watering £335 plus a £5 booking fee for standard tickets.

You could try and get in for free, but the ticket does come with some added freebies, including:

Entry to the festival, with over 3,000 performances

Kidzfield, where all entertainment, rides and activities are free of charge

On top of all that, the Coach + Ticket package includes a return coach journey from dozens of separate locations across the UK, in addition to the general admission entry ticket to the festival.

The coach fare is added to the price of the general admission ticket and varies depending on where you get the coach from.

You don’t need to pay the whole amount in one go when you buy the ticket.

A £50 deposit is taken at the point of sale, in addition to your coach fare if booking a Coach + Ticket package.

The rest of the ticket payment will be due the first week of April (Saturday 1 – Friday 7) 2023.

Where do Glastonbury coaches depart from?

Coaches booked as part of the Ticket + Coach package depart from Bath, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Lincoln, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Oxford, Plymouth, Reading, Sheffield, Southampton, Stoke, Swansea, Swindon, Taunton, Truro and York.

Glastonbury’s official coach travel partner, National Express, is running services from over 70 locations direct to the Festival’s own on-site coach station right by the Festival gates. You can book here when ticket sales open.

If you purchase a Coach + Ticket package, you must travel to the festival on the designated departure bus you have chosen, otherwise you won’t get your General Admission ticket.

When do general admission tickets go on sale?

General admission tickets go on sale at 9am on Sunday (November 6).

Can you transfer Glastonbury tickets?

No, and Glastonbury are being very strict about this. To prevent touting, all tickets for the Festival are individually personalised (hence the registration process) to the named ticket holder and are strictly non-transferable.

Each ticket features the photograph of the registered ticket holder with security checks carried out to ensure that only the person in the photograph is admitted to the Festival.

When you book a deposit for a Festival ticket or a ticket + coach travel option, you must have a valid registration number.

If you are buying tickets for other people, they all need to be registered – and you will need their registration numbers and postcodes in order to purchase tickets on their behalf.

Resale of tickets is strictly prohibited.

How quickly do Glastonbury tickets sell out?

Glastonbury tickets are notoriously hard to get hold of, with the 2020 event selling out in 33 minutes.
