Emma Watson names Cate Blanchett as a style icon

Emma Watson has named Cate Blanchett as one of her main style icons.

The ‘Noah’ actress has admitted she gets wardrobe envy when she sees what Cate is wearing and there are several other Hollywood stars whose fashion sense she admires.

In an interview with Vanity Fair magazine, Emma was asked who she thinks of as style icons, to which she replied: ”Lauren Bacall, Sofia Coppola, Cate Blanchett, Françoise Hardy.”

Staying true to the high street, Emma revealed that she still shops at Topshop and loves browsing through the vintage shops in London’s Notting Hill for unique finds.

She shared: ”I love shops with a unique point of view. In London, I buy my lingerie from Tallulah. I do my vintage shopping in Notting Hill. English Topshop is hard to beat. In Paris, I will always go to Isabel Marant. In New York, there is a great shop called Otte, and another called Bird. In California, there is this great boutique called Anaïse where I stock up on beautiful hand-crafted hair accessories. Net-a-Porter or Shopbop are great for online.”

Unlike many celebrities who are only spotted wearing something once, the 24-year-old actress – who has recently been named as a Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women – explained how she likes to recycle her wardrobe.

She told the magazine: ”[For] day to day, my trusty Alexander Wang Kori ankle boots or Tabitha Simmons suede Early booties get me through most daytime occasions. For night time, I almost always wear my Prada pointed-toe suede pumps. I’ve had my pair five years now, and they are still perfect and go with everything.

”My go-to daily little jewels. Every day I wear a tiny, drop diamond necklace on a sweet gold chain from Catbird, a very special Jennifer Meyer gold bar necklace that was a birthday present, and my tiny rings from Hirotaka, Boucheron, and one vintage one.”

Emma also shared her admiration for designer brands BLK DNM, J Brand and Mui Mui whilst confessing her love for Diptyque’s Feu de Bois candle and her gorgeous Cartier Tank Solo in gold.
