Jennifer Garner: I’ve found my fashion style

Jennifer Garner used to “wing fashion” when she was younger and confesses she has no “innate fashion sense”.

The actress feels the pressure to look good thanks to her job and has learnt what looks good on her. When she was younger, things weren’t as clear to her though.

“I used to totally wing fashion. Until I realised what worked for me: neutrals and a cut that isn’t too tight or too loose. Some people are born with an innate fashion sense; some people know a lot about fashion. I had neither,” she laughed to British magazine Glamour.

The 41-year-old star is obviously doing something right as she is the face of Max Mara accessories. No one was more shocked than her when she won the role and she still hasn’t got used to seeing herself in the advertising campaigns.

“Seeing myself on a billboard? Weird! My friends sent me pictures of the high billboard in Venice’s Piazza San Marco that features my campaign as the face of Max Mara accessories. It’s very exciting, but very, very surreal,” she said.

Jennifer appears in the movie Dallas Buyers Club, which did well at last night’s Oscars. It took home three prizes, including best actor for Matthew McConaughey and best supporting actor for Jared Leto.

The actress opted for a stunning silver beaded gown by Oscar de la Renta for the ceremony. It was tiered and inspired by the ’20s, with Jennifer going old-Hollywood with her hair which was loosely waved. Although she won serious style points thanks to the ensemble, the star doesn’t find such events that easy.

“The red carpet can be scary. You have days when the last thing you want to do it walk up one; if you’ve had a bad day or a baby or put on a few pounds,” she added. “I’m not a stick, I’m not someone who starves myself. I just go forward and do the best I can.”
