While her sister Kim is ‘breaking the internet’ over on Paper Magazine, Kendall is ‘changing the face of fashion’ on Dazed. In one black and white cover she wears a military Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2015 buttoned coat and black bowl cut bob, similar to the one she sported in the Marc Jacobs show.

Her second cover is a little more surreal, with Kendall wearing a wacky colour block Junya Watanabe ensemble with a plastic spherical hat, clutching a red leather Junya Watanabe teddy bear

The independents are embracing the Kardashian-Jenners. If you’ve managed to miss Kim Kardashian’s Paper Magazine cover, well done you, because it exploded everywhere earlier this month. Paper Magazine’s Editorial Director told Grazia Daily about the shoot: “We had two goals. Since the theme of the issue was to ‘break the internet’ we wanted to create hysteria on line.” He added: “Another goal was to create incredibly iconic images. Having Jean-Paul, one of the greatest photographers alive today and Kim, the world’s most famous woman together was a dream come true.”

Cultural icons starring in high-low covers for titles such as i-D and Dazed is hardly a new trick. Victoria Beckham has done i-D, Britney Spears did Pop and One Direction were on the cover of Wonderland. Katie Grand shot many cultural icons during her time at Pop and took this cover concept over to Love Magazine where she has photographed the likes of Miley Cyrus, Abbey Clancy and Justin Bieber.

But it does seem like the high-low cover is becoming less of an ironic ‘wink, wink’ anomoly and the norm. This month you’ll see Taylor Swift on Wonderland, Kim Kardashian on Paper and now Kendall Jenner on Dazed and Confused. Given that these celebrities have an Instagram following greater than the population of several countries, it’s hardly a surprising editorial decision.
