Miley Cyrus is done with red carpet events

American singer, songwriter, and actress Miley Cyrus doesn’t find it necessary to appear on the red carpet.

The Wrecking Ball singer insists she would rather focus on more important issues and has vowed to never walk a red carpet again (Until she has something to promote that is).

“(A year ago) I had to do the (A Very Murray Christmas) premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again,” she added. “Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m “important?” Because I’m “famous?” That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit – it’s like Zoolander.”

Miley will next be seen as a judge on singing competition show The Voice and she is urging her contestants to be authentic themselves, like former U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

The 23 year old star commented to Elle magazine: “I don’t want this to come off the wrong way, but I’m going to tell my contestants: Be Bernie Sanders,” she says. “Be the person people want and love. Don’t worry about the masses. That’s how you make a memorable moment. Let people talk about it.”

And although she won’t be showing off her fashions on the red carpet for the show, her stylist Simone Harouche has teased that audiences are in for a treat with the 23-year-old’s wardrobe on the reality series.

“I think a large portion of Miley’s audience has always been a younger demographic. If any age group would relate to her fashion sense, it would be her peers. Miley is always going to be true to herself, regardless of the event or show,” Simone told The Hollywood Reporter.

“Absolutely (our work is collaborative). Miley is very true to herself and she knows what she wants. A lot of times, we bounce off ideas to come up with a new look. It’s always fun and I get to be creative and really go there.”
