Stars Align at the SXSW London Premiere of Deep Cover at the Barbican Centre
The red carpet was buzzing in the heart of London last night (June 4) as the highly anticipated action-comedy Deep Cover made its world premiere at the Barbican Centre as part of SXSW London 2025.
Leading the star-studded arrivals was Orlando Bloom, looking sharp in a tailored navy suit. The 48-year-old actor was joined by co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Nick Mohammed, both of whom appeared in high spirits as they greeted fans and press ahead of the screening.
Also hitting the carpet was the ever-stylish Sonoya Mizuno, with director Tom Kingsley and screenwriters Ben Ashenden, Alexander Owen, Derek Connolly, and Colin Trevorrow all on hand to celebrate the film’s debut. Among the evening’s guests were celebrity couple Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie, adding to the A-list energy of the night.
Set to hit Prime Video on June 12th, Deep Cover is already generating major buzz. The film blends high-stakes action with offbeat humour, following Kat (played by Howard), an improv comedy teacher stuck in a creative rut. When a grizzled undercover cop (played by Sean Bean) recruits her for a secret mission, she ropes in two of her eccentric students (Bloom and Mohammed) to pose as notorious gangsters. What follows is a chaotic dive into London’s criminal underworld—with plenty of laughs and explosions along the way.
Filming wrapped over a year ago, with Bloom even spotted on set dressed in an eye-catching elf costume—adding intrigue to his character’s undercover antics. The ensemble cast also includes Paddy Considine, Ian McShane, and, of course, the ever-iconic Sean Bean.
Director Tom Kingsley told reporters the movie was “a love letter to London’s weirdness and energy,” while writer Colin Trevorrow described it as “an unpredictable ride full of heart and absurdity.”
Deep Cover officially lands on Prime Video worldwide on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Interviews from the red carpet, including chats with the cast and creative team, were captured by Colin Hart and Abigail Shii.
Be sure to check out the trailer now—this is one ride you won’t want to miss.
