Tom Cruise proved he certainly knows how to make a entrance while arriving to the premiere of his highly-anticipated film Top Gun: Maverick aboard the USS Midway in San Diego via a helicopter that he piloted himself. 

The actor, who famously does his own stunts in his action-packed flicks, one-upped all of his incredibly glamorous costars as he touched down at the star-studded event looking dapper as ever in a black tuxedo and a grey tie.

Upon slowly descending the aircraft, the Mission: Impossible star, 59, waved to a sea of his fans that recorded him expertly landing a black helicopter, which read: ‘Tom Cruise Top Gun: Maverick.’

While walking toward the red carpet rocking a pair of black Ray-Ban Aviator sunglasses with silver frames, the dad-of-three flashed a bright smile before going to mingle with Jennifer Connelly, Monica Barbaro and Miles Teller.

Cruise earned his pilot license 28 years ago and, over the years, has performed some dangerous stunts for some of his movies, including spinning a helicopter around while diving down over a waterfall.

For the occasion, Teller, 35, wore a blue suit, matching tie, white dress shirt and black loafers.

She and her longtime husband Paul Bettany, who she wed back in 2003, put on a loved-up display in front of photographers as they walked with their arms sweetly linked together. 

The 50-year-old English actor best known for portraying Vision and voicing J.A.R.V.I.S. in Iron Man, cut a handsome figure in a black suit, white button-down and no tie. 

Connelly, who reprised her role as Penny Benjamin in Top Gun: Maverick’s hit 1980s predecessor, looked thrilled to catch up with her costars ahead of the release of their film’s release on May 27.

The forthcoming movie has been in the works for several years and it is currently set to have its world premiere later this month.

Last month, Cruise, who also serves as one of Top Gun: Maverick’s producers, noted that he and the feature’s team wanted to start the project by producing a solid storyline. 

In a behind-the-scenes video, released via his Instagram, he gushed: ‘I wasn’t ready to make a sequel until we had a special story worthy of a sequel.’

The performer also noted that he and his collaborators held off on working on the sequel until ‘technology evolved so we could delve deeper into the experience of a fighter pilot.’

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer also commented on how the original Top Gun made a serious impression on many of its viewers.

He noted that ‘the first movie became something that changed a generation, so this is exciting to come back and get in those jets again.’

Cruise made a point of emphasizing the intense training that the movie’s cast underwent during the project’s production process.

He recalled that ‘we worked with the navy and the Top Gun school to formulate how to shoot it practically, because if we’re going to do it, we’re going to fly F-18s.’
