UPCOMING LONDON FILM PREMIERES JULY 2017
Whilst June will see premieres including Hampstead taking place in London, the bigger film premieres are just around the corner.
Leicester square has already seen it’s fair share of premieres over the past 6 months including ‘Another Mother’s Son’, ‘The Lost City Of Z’, ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ and ‘Kong Skull Island’ but as we excitedly look through our internal media calendar listings (For Film premieres rumoured for later in the year), in this blog post we ‘ll just focus on what red carpet events could well be taking place in the capital next month.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Fresh from helping Tony Stark in the Avengers’ civil war, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ sees Peter Parker go back to school. Only now, he needs to balance his studying with his super-heroics.
He wants to be an official Avenger, but despite letting him keep the fancy new suit, Tony still treats him like a kid. So when a new villain emerges, a flying menace called the Vulture, he finally finds an opportunity to prove himself as a superhero worthy of standing alongside Iron Man.
We’re going back to school for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, which sees the web-slinger take his place alongside the Avengers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Possible red carpet date: 5th July 2017.
War For The Planet Of The Apes
All of human history has led to the ‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’, as Caesar’s clan of apes begins a battle to determine the fate of their species.
Their greatest threat yet has emerged in the form of a ruthless human Colonel, committed to ensuring the survival of the human race at any cost. Caesar wanted peace, but in the face of an army determined to wipe out all the apes, he’ll be pushed to his limits to protect his people.
The future of the planet will be decided in ‘War For The Planet Of The Apes’, the latest chapter in the acclaimed franchise.
Possible date: 12th July
Cars 3
The turbo-charged franchise returns for ‘Cars 3’, which follows the legendary Lightning McQueen on his greatest challenge yet as he’s blindsided by a new generation of elite racers.
Pushed out of the sport he loves and damaged in a race, he has to accept that he simply isn’t as fast as his new competitors. But that doesn’t mean he can’t find another way to beat them and once again prove he’s the greatest in the world!
Head out to the racetrack once more with ‘Cars 3’, featuring the voices of Owen Wilson, Armie Hammer, Nathan Fillion and Kerry Washington.
Possible date: 12th July
Dunkirk
400,000 Allied soldiers were trapped on the beach at ‘Dunkirk’, surrounded by the German army in the early days of the Second World War. And they needed to be evacuated.
France had been overrun, and the Allied army had been defeated and trapped. In a desperate effort to save the troops, more than 800 boats – from military ships to tiny civilian fishing boats – came to help with the evacuation that would become known as the Miracle of Dunkirk.
Christopher Nolan brings his vision to ‘Dunkirk’, one of the defining events of the 20th Century, starring Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh and Mark Rylance.

The Dark Tower
Jake (Tom Taylor) yearns for adventure, so when he starts to uncover a series of clues hinting towards an alternative dimension, he eagerly seeks to unravel their mystery. His commitment pays off, as Jake is unexpectedly carried to Mid-World, an Old West-style dimension on the brink of collapse.
In this new world, Jake meets loner frontiersman Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who is on a mission to locate the Dark Tower, based in End-World. Mid-World is quickly becoming extinct, and only the power that resides within the Dark Tower can help to save his home.
Together, the pair use their special abilities to travel to the Dark Tower, but their journey is a perilous one. A host of monsters are blocking their way, while the evil Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey), an ageless wizard, seeks to reach the Dark Tower himself, for his own wicked gains.
Based on the best-selling and universally beloved Dark Tower series by Stephen King, The Dark Tower is the first on-screen adaptation of the series, with Idris Elba (Star Trek Beyond, Avengers: Age of Ultron), Matthew McConaughey (Dallas Buyers Club, Interstellar) and new-comer Tom Taylor taking the starring, legendary roles
