Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of Darkness – Diablo 4 Crossover and More including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

As the spooky season kicks off, gamers are in for a treat with Halloween-themed events, and Overwatch 2 is no exception. Season 7, titled “Rise of Darkness,” is set to commence on October 10th, and it promises some exciting features, including a stunning Lilith skin.

The official Overwatch Twitter account made the announcement, unveiling a video showcasing the Blizzard World map transformed for the annual Halloween PvE event, Junkenstein’s Revenge. As the trailer nears its end, a glimpse of a new Moira skin, inspired by Diablo IV’s main antagonist, Lilith, is revealed.

While the teaser doesn’t provide many details, Reddit leaks have already surfaced, suggesting Halloween-themed skins for Widowmaker and Echo, along with a new Mythic skin for Hanzo.

But that’s not all; during the Overwatch League Grand Finals, developers shared insights into Samoa, the latest map. Set to be a control map, Samoa will have players battling in diverse locations, including a beach, downtown area, and volcano points. This exciting new map will debut alongside Season 7 on October 10th.

It’s worth noting that Lilith, the antagonist from Diablo IV, has made appearances in other Activision Blizzard titles as well. The Haunting event in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 featured two Diablo-themed bundles, allowing players to assume the roles of both Lilith and Inarius Operators.

The crossover between Diablo and Overwatch isn’t entirely new; previously, Overwatch introduced Diablo-themed skins, such as Barbarian Zarya, Demon Hunter Sombra, and Butcher Roadhog.

Overwatch 2 continues to surprise with its creative crossovers, and the anticipation for “Rise of Darkness” is building. The full trailer is set to be unveiled on October 4th, so fans should prepare for an exciting Diablo 4-inspired season.

Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle from Sony

Sony is gearing up to release an enticing Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 bundle that includes a digital download of the game. This move is part of Sony’s efforts to sell a staggering 25 million consoles in the current fiscal year, with the company even offering free copies of older games to new PS5 owners.

The Spider-Man 2 PS5 bundle was teased through an October 2 tweet and is priced at $560, the same as last year’s God of War Ragnarök PS5 bundle, effectively saving buyers $10. This special edition will be available starting on October 20, coinciding with the game’s launch, although pre-orders have not gone live yet.

The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2018 action-adventure game developed by Insomniac Games, Spider-Man 2 sees Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up to combat formidable foes like Kraven the Hunter and the alien symbiote Venom. It’s worth noting that Spider-Man 2 is one of the few first-party blockbusters exclusive to the PS5 in this console generation.

Sony’s ambitious goal of selling 25 million PS5 units this fiscal year has led to various strategies, including discounts on bundles and giveaways of critically acclaimed games like Horizon Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part 1 to new PS5 owners. This “upgrade” promotion runs until 3:00 a.m. ET on October 21, potentially allowing buyers of the Spider-Man 2 bundle to acquire an additional game at no extra cost.

While the special edition PS5 console with red and black faceplates has already sold out at $600, the Spider-Man 2 bundle with its digital download code seems to be readily available, ensuring fans won’t miss out on this exciting offer.
