The England footballer’s daughter has entered the villa this season and already contestant Gemma Owen has emerged as one of the central figures in the villa.

On Friday night she coupled up with Luca, who she’d previously turned her attention to after a game of dares – a move which had unsettled bombshell Davide Sanclimenti who she was coupled up with at that point.

Gemma is footballer Michael Owen’s daughter and the former England international recently came to the defence of his daughter after she faced criticism from fans on social media, calling her “The most amazing girl you could meet.”

Gemma had earlier told MarkMeets.com that Michael wasn’t at all happy she signed up.

Michael Owen has slammed Love Island fans who reckon his daughter Gemma is ‘rude and too young’.

The 19-year-old dressage rider has caused quite the controversy since rocking up on the ITV2 show last week.

Some viewers have questioned her attitude, with several suggesting the dressage rider needs to work on her manners.

Why Love Island and why now?

I am open to finding love, I’m wanting to have a really fun summer. I was seeing someone and then that didn’t work out so I thought, “Why not?”

What do you think you’ll bring to the Villa?

I would say I’m fun, flirty and fiery. I think I’m good at giving advice, I’m a good person to talk to, I’m very honest. If I want the same guy, I’d do it but in a nice respectful way.

Why would you say you’re a catch?

Look at my height – I’m 5ft6”. I don’t think there’s that many people my height, with my complexion or my looks!

Why would you say you’re single?

I’m single by choice I would say. It’s also pretty hard to find good looking people out there who are my type and my age so Love Island will put me in a situation where there will be people like that and hopefully that will force me to settle down.

How would your friends and family describe you?

Bubbly, funny, good looking, exciting.

How would you sum up your dating history?

Turbulent.

Do you have a memorable dating experience?

I took my ex on holiday for her birthday. We went to Barcelona for four nights and I was pretty young then, maybe like 19-20. It was for her birthday so she didn’t know about it. It was quite a lot of money to spend for that age.

How competitive are you? How do you feel about treading on toes?

I’m very competitive, I’m quite sporty as well which is probably where it comes from. I don’t really hold grudges so if someone steps on my toes, I’m effectively allowed to do the same.

What would you say gives you the ick?

I don’t have any particular ‘icks’. It’s just personality, make sure you’re chatty and your breath doesn’t smell!

Do you fall in love quickly or are you more of a slow burner?

I would say I’m a slow burner but I would know instantly if that person was compatible with me, like instantly, off the first conversation.
