Wes Anderson is set to direct Benedict Cumberbatch in an upcoming movie adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1977 novel, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and Six More.

Coming on the heels of his critically-acclaimed The French Dispatch, Anderson’s other upcoming feature, Asteroid City, is also currently filming in Spain. The recently-announced Dahl adaptation will mark Anderson’s first collaboration with Cumberbatch, who is set to play the lead role of Sugar.

The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar will be backed by Netflix, and is reportedly beginning production shortly in England. Anderson’s newest project will mark his second film adaptation of a Dahl novel, followed by his 2009 stop-motion hit, Fantastic Mr. Fox. Story details, in addition to an official release date, have yet to be released, though the movie is likely to feature some of Anderson’s usual talent, such as Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, and Tilda Swinton.

While it’s hard to predict what exactly fans of Anderson can expect from the film auteur’s next big project, it’s sure to be a colorful, vibrant journey into the world of Dahl. With Cumberbatch having recently gained some major critical praise for his role in Jane Campion’s latest project, The Power of The Dog, his role in The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar is certainly a 180-turn from his typical gritty, hard-hitting characters.

Whether or not viewers can expect another claymation project like Fantastic Mr. Fox and Isle of Dogs, or a typical live-action film, remains to be seen. But either way, the upcoming collaboration between Cumberbatch and Anderson is sure to be a memorable team-up.
