So in the same year there were 736 films released in the United States. Times that number by every year that we’ve been making movies, and you have a lot of options to choose from for a movie night.

If you’re thinking about choosing a film for your special night, you’re probably wondering what else you have to set up.

We’ll break it all down for you so you can host the perfect movie night that everyone will love!

Take Time Choosing a Movie

First, you need to make sure that you spend your time choosing the perfect movie. This is what the whole night hinges on.

Are you going to watch the best Westerns or are you going to watch some classic Sci-Fis? A romcom or a drama? Poll the people that will be attending and narrow down your genre at least.

After you’ve narrowed down your genre, you can start looking at popular streaming sites to see what’s new, available, or popular.

Come Up With a Menu

After you’ve selected a movie, you’ll need to come up with the menu next.

However, regardless of which snacks you choose, you should always make sure that you remember to make the popcorn. To have a really authentic movie night, you could even buy a popcorn maker and pop some fresh popcorn for everyone to enjoy!

Have a Good Setup

After you’ve completed the first two steps, next you need to focus on the viewing area.

Do you have a good, reliable way to watch the movie? You should consider getting a streaming projector, a FireStick, Chromecast, or a DVD movie. After you’ve got those and your Internet working, you can turn your attention to the lounging area.

This will be where your guests want to get comfortable and just relax and watch the movie. You could add more pillows to your couches to make it more comfortable. If you don’t have enough couch space, you could also lay out a blanket on the floor and add some pillows to make it even better.

Plan Time Afterward to Talk

One of the most annoying things is when people talk during the movie, but thankfully there are ways to avoid that.

Tell everyone that you’ll plan time after the movie where they can discuss it and talk about their favorite parts. This will let everyone have a chance to voice their opinions while not ruining the movie.

If it’s hard getting some conversation going afterward, you can even write down some prompting questions or statements beforehand to get it started.
