Twentieth Century Fox have unveiled the first look of “Gone Girl” for fans, featuring leading man Ben Affleck.
The movie studio posted a still image from the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl of Affleck on the set of the upcoming big-screen adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s fictional thriller. In the shot, Affleck can be seen portraying Nick Dunne, a man in a rocky marriage whose life implodes when his wife goes missing and he becomes a suspect for murder.
Dressed in a blazer and button down, he stands on stage beside a “missing” poster of his wife, Amy, played by actress Rosamund Pike.
If you’re way behind and haven’t even read the book yet, now you have to/get to imagine Ben Affleck instead of whatever your brain would’ve conjured up for Nick Dunne.
Oscar-winning actor said that David Fincher’s adaptation of Flynn’s novel is on-point.
“I don’t want to give away too much, because if you know the book, you know that there are set of reveals that you would want to maintain the integrity of,” Affleck said. “But I will say that Gillian adapted it and I think it’s very, very faithful to her book. If you read the book and liked it, you will definitely like the movie.”
Rosamund Pike plays Nick’s missing wife, Amy.
Gone Girl is scheduled for October 2014.
