Kellan Lutz, Neal McDonough & Mila Harris Set For ‘The December Cross’

The December Cross Movies News

American actor and model Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Neal McDonough (Minority Report), and Mila Harris (No Exit) have signed on to star in The December Cross, with Archstone Entertainment securing world sales rights and Joshua Harris and Jon Gosier of FilmHedge financing.

Todd Turner (Good Neighbor) wrote and will direct the film. Turner will also serve as producer through Wonderstruck, alongside Gabrielle Almagor for Urban Tales Productions and Michael Slifkin, Scott Martin, and Jack Sheehan of Archstone. Principal photography is scheduled to start September 2023 in Massachusetts.

The film is set in a town called Bethlehem, where border agents have just intercepted a coyote smuggling in a group of tired, desperate, and frightened refugees. There, an 11-year-old girl runs into a 7-year-old boy, Yosef, seeking refuge, report Deadline. Maya and Yosef become fast friends, and their ensuing adventure nearly kills them both but ends up warming the hearts of the townspeople with life lessons stretching far beyond their own borders.

“I am really happy to be a part of The December Cross. We have an amazing cast, and the subject matter has such a unique and timely voice concerning immigration, family, and love,” Lutz said. “As an actor, I look for meaningful stories to tell and I’m looking forward to playing a character with such internal and external conflict.”

Archstone most recently produced The Best Man, starring Luke Wilson and Dolph Lundgren, which was released theatrically last month via Saban. They also recently acquired and are selling Adam The First with David Duchovny, Futra Days with Tania Raymonde and Brandon Sklenar, and The Greatest Surf Movie In The Universe starring Luke Hemsworth, Kelly Slater, and Mick Fanning.

FilmHedge is a fintech platform that provides private credit and financing for TV and film producers.

Lutz is repped by Innovative and Zero Gravity, McDonough is with WME and Luber Roklin, Harris is repped by Paradigm and Complete Management Group, Esposito is with Special Artists Agency and Authentic, and Savante is with Exclusive Artists Agency and Opus Entertainment.

Fans may have a hard time differentiating between Taylor Lautner and his wife, Taylor Lautner, but the couple’s families have mastered telling them apart.

“We’ve kind of got ‘Boy Tay,’ ‘Girl Tay’ going on,” Girl Tay said during a recent “Today” show appearance alongside Boy Tay, adding that their loved ones use the cheeky nicknames “even when we’re not together.”

In their lighthearted social media videos as well as on their mental health-focused podcast, “The Squeeze,” the actor refers to his spouse as Tay, while the nurse calls her husband Taylor.

The “Twilight” star married Tay, whose maiden name is Dome, in November 2022 exactly one year after proposing. The pair dated for three years before getting engaged.

(The actor had previously dated another yet Taylor: Swift. The two dated for a few months in 2019).

Taylor, 31, explained to “Today” co-hosts Sheinelle Jones and Jacob Soboroff how they were introduced by his sister, Makena Lautner.

Shortly after they met and became friends, [my sister] called me and was like, ‘I have this new friend, and I think she’s your future wife. You need to meet her,’” he shared. “She gets credit for that one.”

When asked whether she and her hubby’s younger sibling were “still friends,” Tay replied, “Oh, yeah. She’s my sister! She’s my only sister. I’m an only child.”

The health care professional, 26, also admitted that she “used to be” on “Team Edward” — Taylor’s on-screen rival in the “Twilight” film series — but switched to “Team Jacob” upon saying “I do.”

Last month, the movie star treated his blushing bride to the “best birthday surprise ever” — matching inner wrist tattoos of their “11.11.22” wedding date.

“Matching names wasn’t enough?” one Instagram user quipped, as another suggested the duo “should have just gotten the word ‘Taylor.’”
